I remember nothing but rain falling down on the sidewalk. As you walked away, the water couldn't wash the tears from my face. "We will be okay. We didn't need him anyway." That's what my mother said twenty years ago today. "Look me in the eyes, please don't cry." Only a coward would leave their own family. I will never be like you. Sometimes i wonder what i would say if i saw you these days, or do you even look the same? It would have been easier if i never knew your name. We turned out okay. I even started my own family. And mom married a good man who gave us everything. The only thing you gave me was your eyes, I despise my own reflection. But my little girl says, "Daddy, you make me smile when you look at me." She's my whole life. You could've seen her sometime, before you walked away and stepped out of mine. You coward.
